EU GCC Clean Energy Technology Network participating in the roundtable dialogue on “Regional Electricity Sector Integration in GCC and MENA: Imperatives & Challenges” to be held on Thursday May 10, 2018, organsied by KAPSARC in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Mr Frank Wouters, the Network Director, will contribute in this dialogue.

This workshop will focus on exploring the policy, legislative, regulatory and system operation dimensions of developing an integrated electricity market and cross-border electricity trade in the GCC and MENA context.  

It will draw from global experiences of other major integrated electricity markets, including the EU, with a view to identify good practices and their potential application for this region, to draw lessons for policy makers and other stakeholders for developing an effective and well-functioning integrated electricity market in this region.

This event is a collaborative round table discussion including policymakers, regulators, system operators, industry practitioners, academics, research institutions, international and multi-lateral organizations.
