"Forum on clean energy opportunities and challenges in the GCC region"

Tuesday, January 17th 2017, 11:15 – 14:00, ADNEC (meeting room will be announced in the next few days)

It gives us great pleasure that the Network is coorganising with the Ministry of Energy of UAE, the Secretariat General of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the European Commission, DG Energy a Forum on the upcoming opportunities and challenges to large scale deployment of clean energy within the GCC region. The event shall focus on solar energy, which has become cost effective over the years and many best practices have been set regionally. The event also seeks to highlight areas for collaboration between EU and GCC countries and institutions on key challenges.
The meeting will take place from 11:15 – 14:00 in the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) (Capital suite No 7) alongside the World Future Energy Summit series of events. The meeting room will be announced in the next few days.
The event will include a number of high level addresses from EU and GCC stakeholders as well as panel discussion and will be followed by a networking light lunch buffet.

Important Note

For the experts that are already registered for the WFES in ADNEC as delegates/speakers or visitors you should collect your badge as per the instructions received, and you will have access to the Capital Suite No 7.

In case you are not already registered for the WFES in order to have access to the ADNEC and the capital suite No7you have to register as visitor (very simple process, and ofcourse without fees) to the following form and then you will receive information about collecting your visitor badge at the ADNEC welcome desk.

Prior to the Forum, the EU Energy Day workshop 'Transitioning the Electricity Sector' will take place from 09:00 to 11:00. The workshop is organised by DG Energy of the European Commission as part of the World Future Energy Summit Programme. The workshop will provide an overview of the progress and latest achievements of EU energy policies related to the integration of renewables in the electricity sector and their implications and relevance for other world regions. For more information: euenergyday.eu/abudhabi2017/

The Network will be present at the World Future Energy Summit 2017 (WFES). It will contribute in the agenda of the WFES main Conference programme as well as in side events.Information on the WFES 2017 can be found at the official Summit’s website.
