CSP and Desalination, Wednesday 22 July 2020 at 11.00 CET
The EU GCC Clean Energy Technology Network, with the support of CENER, is organising the online workshop "CSP and Desalination" taking place on Wednesday 22 July 2020 at 11.00 CET.
As the population of the world grows and the environment is affected by climate change, access to fresh drinking water becomes more difficult and expensive. One-third of the world's population will be affected by fresh water scarcity by 2025. Desalination provides a solution purifying saline water into potable fresh water, consuming energy in the process. CSP Desalination approach can provide a maximum capacity factor among RE desalination for the thermal distillation plant in order to reduce its impact on the Levelized Cost of product Water (LCOW). The online workshop will review current CSP Desalination technologies, technical analysis of basic Desalination systems (CSO and other technologies), and one case study using a techno-economical approach.
