How to deliver on the EU Hydrogen Accelerator
The paper "How to deliver on the EU Hydrogen Accelerator" analyses the Hydrogen Accelerator proposed in the European Commission’s REPowerEU common action plan and suggests concrete additional EU actions that are needed to realise its ’20-Mton-hydrogen-target-by-2030’, i.e., 10 Mton produced in the EU and 10 Mton supplied via imports. The aim of these efforts in support of ‘REPowerEU’ is to make the Union 25-50 BCM less dependent on Russian gas. The paper is authored by Ad van Wijk, Professor Future Energy Systems, TU Delft, Kirsten Westphal, Executive Director Analysis and Research, H2-Global Foundation, and Frederik Braun, Energy Transition Researcher and is endorsed by the African Hydrogen Partnership (AHP), Dii Desert Energy, ΕU-GCC Clean Energy Technology Network, H2Global Foundation, and MENA Hydrogen Alliance.
