About Abu Dhabi Polytechnic
Abu Dhabi Polytechnic is a post-secondary academic institution of the Institute of Applied Technology. The IAT was founded in 2005 through Royal decree of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, Ruler of Abu Dhabi. The vision of Abu Dhabi Polytechnic is to create skilled professional technologists and engineers capable of performing at the highest international standards to build a knowledge-based economy in the UAE. Abu Dhabi Polytechnic aims to provide the necessary balance of theoretical studies and practical on-the-job training to prepare students for a career in emerging fields such as semiconductor manufacturing and nuclear technology. Abu Dhabi Polytechnic faculty and staff work side-by-side with industry partners to provide job qualification certification as well as an accredited academic degree. The three-year Higher Diploma in Technology degree covers approximately 2 years of academic courses and 1 year of industry training. Abu Dhabi Polytechnic is temporarily located in Abu Dhabi and will move to Mohammed Bin Zayed City in 2012.
