Al – Madinah Al – Munawrah Development Authority, the EU – GCC Clean Energy Technology Network and the Environmental Center for Arab Towns (ECAT), in association also with Blue Wave Media, are organising a joint executive training seminar entitled “Energy Efficiency in Public Buildings: Policies-Technologies and Best Practices”, which will take place in Medina, KSA on 16-18 April 2018.

The GCC, the EU and the Arab regions share a continued challenge for mitigating climate change in a sustainable way, thus more countries are increasing their efforts in implementing measures that will reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions. Buildings are playing a significant role since they are considered as the main energy consumers. For this reason, there is an increasing demand for the deployment of energy efficiency retrofits for private, commercial and public buildings which is considered to be as a very important pathway for increasing energy security in worldwide level.

The main aim and objective of this 3-day executive training seminar is to enhance the awareness and expertise of the engineers working in the public sector of the GCC region in the domains of the Energy and Energy conservation, nZEB Buildings and Green Buildings.

Experts from the EU GCC Clean Energy Technology Network will provide information on international and EU Energy Efficiency policies and best practices both for new and existing Public Buildings as well as in the Climate Resilience.

This event aims to facilitate knowledge exchange and partnerships in clean energy fields between the two regions, considering the identified common understanding and mutual benefits of addressing sustainability issues of global concern.
